Frontal Recession
The hairline retreats slowly, and then suddenly.
A receding hairline is a gradual backward drift of the whole frontal line. It rarely feels dramatic in any single year — only across several, when photographs begin to say what the mirror did not. The first step is an unhurried, doctor-led conversation — not a treatment plan.
Why It Feels Different
Why a receding hairline is felt before it is seen.
Most patients arrive with the same observation: the change feels recent, but the photographs say otherwise. Frontal recession tends to progress slowly, often through a person’s thirties and forties.
01
A higher forehead than you remember
The frontal line drifts upward by millimetres at a time, and the face can begin to read older than the person behind it.
02
Photographs that read differently
Self-image rarely keeps pace with the change. Many patients first notice it in a photograph or on a video call.
03
Styling that starts to compensate
Hair is worn longer, swept forward, or parted differently — small adjustments that quietly carry the concern.
04
A pattern that quietly progresses
Without a considered plan, recession can continue, and the options for a natural-looking frontal line may narrow over time.
The Process
Four stages, one doctor throughout.
01
Private assessment
A confidential review of the frontal line, the wider pattern of loss, and the donor area at the back and sides of the scalp. Early review can begin remotely.
02
Hairline drawn in person
Datuk Dr. Inder designs the frontal line directly with the patient — calibrated to facial structure, age, and personal preference.
03
Treatment day
Grafts are extracted selectively within preserved hair and placed personally by Datuk Dr. Inder to re-establish the frontal line within the existing hair.
04
Review across the year
Growth is reviewed at three, six, and twelve months, with each stage assessed in person.
The iGraft Approach
A hairline that frames the face, not a line drawn on it.
A hairline is not a single line but a soft, irregular transition zone, individual to each patient. Where restoration is the right answer, the frontal line is re-established at a position appropriate to age and facial proportion, with density calibrated rather than maximised.
01
Position before density
A hairline placed too low, or too even, reads as artificial and ages poorly. The right position respects facial proportion and time.
02
Frontal and temples together
The frontal line and any temple recession are treated as a single, continuous architecture — not as separate concerns.
03
Softer at the leading edge
Placement reflects how a natural hairline behaves — softer at the front, denser behind — so the result reads as native hair.
04
No shaving, no visible donor area
Grafts are taken individually between full-length hairs, so neither the hairline nor the donor area announces the procedure.
05
Doctor-led, in private
Designed and performed personally by Datuk Dr. Inder, in a setting calibrated for complete privacy throughout.
Familiarity During Recovery
A familiar appearance, throughout the process.
Where Long Hair FUE is the appropriate path, healing happens beneath the patient’s own preserved hair. Daily life continues with a familiar appearance — though aftercare, gentle handling, and realistic timelines remain part of the process.
01
Day 0
The procedure ends within preserved hair. The patient leaves looking essentially as they arrived.
02
Days 3–7
Gentle aftercare while the frontal area remains framed by surrounding hair. Most routines resume within a few days.
03
Months 3–6
Initial shedding settles. Early growth begins to redefine the frontal line — gradually, quietly, and at a realistic pace.
04
Month 12
The result is reviewed in person as growth matures and the frontal line settles.
Who May Be Suitable
Not every patient with a receding hairline is a surgical candidate, and the responsible answer is often non-surgical guidance, medical referral, or a recommendation to wait and re-assess. Where Long Hair FUE is appropriate, suitability tends to follow a clear set of patterns.
01
A settling pattern
Recession that has slowed or stabilised, rather than rapid active loss — which is rarely the right moment for surgical work.
02
Preserved donor reserve
Stable density at the back and sides of the scalp, evaluated personally for calibre and long-term reliability.
03
A long-term view
Patients who accept that the hairline is planned for the decades ahead, with donor hair kept in reserve for future needs.
04
Realistic expectations
Patients seeking a natural, age-appropriate frontal line — not the hairline of their teenage years.
Results
A hairline that reads as your own.
Outcomes are reviewed privately and discussed only in the context of the patient’s own face and goals. Results vary between individuals, and no specific outcome can be promised.

Frequently Asked
Considered questions.
The questions most often raised before a private assessment — answered with the same restraint as the practice itself.
01
Is it too early to consider treatment?
Early recession is often a good moment to plan. Acting earlier protects more of the existing frame and gives more options across the years ahead. In some cases, the right advice is to wait and re-assess.
02
Where will the new hairline be placed?
The position is established in person by Datuk Dr. Inder, calibrated to facial proportion, age, and the patient’s own preferences — never lower than would continue to read as natural over time.
03
Will it look like a transplant?
Naturalness depends on hairline design and graft placement, both performed personally by Datuk Dr. Inder. The intent is a frontal line that reads as the patient’s own hair, though individual results vary.
04
Will I need to shave my head?
No. Where Long Hair FUE is the right answer, surrounding hair is preserved at full visible length throughout. The defining principle of the method is that the patient’s own hair is not shaved.
05
Will the hairline still look natural as I get older?
Transplanted follicles generally retain their resistance to thinning, but surrounding hair may continue to change. The plan accounts for this, so the hairline is designed to read as natural across years — not only in the year of the procedure.
06
How long does growth realistically take?
Early growth is generally visible from around month three, with density building through months six to nine. The full character of the result typically settles across roughly twelve months.
